One of our favorite essential oils for skincare specifically oily and dehydrated skin. A calming yet uplifting oil to bring restoration to the body and mind. Also, a great anti-inflammatory, Palmarosa can be added to swollen ankles or applied to an itchy inflamed bug bite.
Best ways to use Palmarosa essential oil:
- Direct Palm / Nasal Inhaler: Place a drop of oil in the palm of your hand, gently rub the hands together, cup your hands around your nose and take a deep breath in through the nose. You can also add several drops to nasal inhaler and breathe in throughout the day. You can repeat multiple times though out the day.
- Diffuser: Palmarosa is great to add to a diffuser to as a release from a busy stressful day (add lavender and lemon)
- Apply 1 drop to your facial serum, moisturizer or oil (add carrot seed for additional hydration)
- Add 1 drop to your body moisturizer for relief from itchy, inflamed skin (add chamomile for extra support)
Other oils it blends well with:
Atlas cedar, bergamot, lavender, lemon, lime, mandarin, neroli, patchouli, sandalwood, sweet orange.
Fun facts: Palmarosa is a grass that comes out of Asia. It is related to lemongrass and citronella.
Cautions: Palmarosa is considered non-toxic and non-sensitizing. It can however be an irritant to sensitive skin if not properly diluted.
