Essential Oil - Lime

A sharp and refreshing oil that enlivens and restores the spirits and acts as an antiviral to protect you against aliments. 

Best ways to use Lime essential oil:

• Direct Palm / Nasal Inhaler: Place a drop of oil in the palm of your hand, gently rub the hands together, cup your hands around your nose and take a deep breath in through the nose. You can also add several drops to nasal inhaler and breathe in throughout the day. You can repeat multiple times though out the day.
• Diffuser: Lime is one of our favorites to use in a diffuser during the winter cold and flu season.  It gives you a sense of tropics while the air is cold outside (great to mix with lemon). As a mood up lifter we like to add ylang ylang or holy basil.
• Add a couple of drops to a facial steam bath to help break up mucus (great with peppermint or lemon).
• Cleanser: add lime essential oil and water to a spray bottle to disinfect your working station, children’s room or anywhere that might need a quick cleanse (add lemon and sweet orange for a clean refreshing scent). 

Other oils it blends well with:

Bergamot, clary sage, holy basil, lavender, lime, mandarin, neroli, rosemary, sweet orange, ylang ylang

Fun facts: Lime is a small evergreen tree native to Asia. Lime became very popular in the 1800’s when it was found that it contained high amounts of vitamin C.  Lime can work up to 1 hour as a bug repellent.     

Cautions: Lime is considered non-toxic and non-irritant. Like other citruses it is potentially phototoxic so do not apply before going out into sunlight.
