Lavender is best known for its calming and mood uplifting properties. It is also one of our favorite essential oils to apply to heal the skin from burns, bruises, cuts, sunburns, sores, insect bites and bee stings.
Best ways to use Lavender essential oil:
- Direct Palm / Nasal Inhaler: Place a drop of oil in the palm of your hand, gently rub the hands together, cup your hands around your nose and take a deep breath in through the nose. You can also add several drops to nasal inhaler and breathe in throughout the day. You can repeat multiple times though out the day (for stress mix with neroli and clary sage and to clear sinuses mix with frankincense and eucalyptus)
- Diffuser: Lavender is a wonderful oil to add to calm the mind and open the heart (for relaxation mix with mandarin and to strengthen the nerves mix with lemon balm)
- For a comforting body oil mix with jasmine and rose.
- For a muscle tension oil mix into a carrier oil of arnica and blend with peppermint and rosemary.
- Apply directly onto skin after a burn.
- Mix with a base oil and peppermint essential oil to apply to swelling and sunburns.
- Mix with oils such as lemongrass, peppermint in a base of water as a bug spray.
- Mix with mandarin in a base of water and use as a pillow spray.

Atlas cedar, bergamot, clove, clary sage, forest pine, frankincense, juniper, lavender, mandarin, neroli, rose, rose geranium, sweet orange.
Fun facts: The romans scented public baths with lavender flowers. The flowers can be used to flavor jelly, tea, wine, and garnishes. Lavender is regarded as one of the most useful essential oils for therapeutic uses.
